PH Courses a great success!
Thanks to Andrew Peel and all the participants who made these courses a success!

In the five days of the courses, attendants learned about:

- the new version of PHPP (version 8.5) and all of the special information you get about PH design when learning a program like PHPP;

- designPH,the ins, the outs and how the industry is developing towards a real graphical input system for designing your PH;

- THERM, the great equalizer. This program is used to calculate thermal bridging in building construction details. When you get your design almost to the point where it is certifiable, those thermal bridges, or lack thereof, can make the difference!

We held last months PHAUS Vt meeting at the VerMod factory in Wilder, Vt. It was a joint meeting of the Sustainable Energy Outreach Network and PHAUS Vt. Both groups were well represented, with about twenty two people showing up.

Chet Pasho, one of the founders of the VerMod factory, gave us a tour of their facility. The VerMod factory produces modular homes to the High Performance Tier level. Their first product line is mobiel home replacements, but they are able to make modular homes of any configuration.

After the tour we were invited to use VerMod's model home to hold our meeting. Guy Payne and Peter Yost, from SEON, talked about the work that group has done. SEON is from the Brattleboro area where they are actively working on supporting super energy efficient builders and companies. They have a great builders group that meets once a month where the members bring their questions about super insulated house details that they have run into in their daily work.

PHAUS Vt, in association with other like-minded groups in northwestern Vermont, are looking to form a similar group...with builders, architects, designers and other super energy efficient professionals. We will be getting a group going in the near future. If you are intersted please email us at info@phausvt.org.
